Getting the help you need in an emergency is as simple as dialling either 999 or 112...you'll be put through to the same location either way.
Once you have asked for an ambulance and are speaking with the call taker, they will ask you a series of questions to determine the nature of the emergency. This is NOT delaying the arrival of the ambulance. In fact, it provides the Responders with important information to help them plan how best to assist the person involved when the arrive.
Knowing your Eircode is vital in providing the emergency services with a way to locate you. Make sure you have that information on display somewhere in the building so children or guests can easily locate it in an emergency.
Finally, at night time, turn on the lights at the front of the house or the hazard lights on a car so Responders know they are at the right place. If possible, have someone watching for their arrival and show them where the patient is located.
